CYP - Mental Health System Advisor - CYP mental health in Norfolk & Waveney

Location:        Home based with travel throughout the Norfolk & Waveney system

Salary:            £371.10 per 3.75 hour session. 

Hours:             15 hours per week based upon delivering 4 X sessions per week

Job Purpose:  

The post holder will act as a System Advisor for CYP Mental Health for Norfolk & Waveney Integrated Care System to continue the system quality and improvement advice work, providing clinical oversight and leadership.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:     

Key Functions 

•           This role will work collaboratively with system partners to provide clinical expertise and leadership in a variety of local priority programmes of transformation

•           To ensure safe and efficient transformation of services this role is required to input and support strategic decision making at a system level, relating to early intervention, clinical and wider therapeutic pathways.

•           The postholder will provide oversight in the development of integrated system processes.

•           Use population health management to inform decision making at a strategic level

Key Priorities 

These will change with time, but currently there are several key priorities identified within the N&W CYPMH system, including refinement of the Advice, Support and Access Service, reduction of mental health waiting lists, addressing health inequalities and integrated working, particularly the shift to neighbourhood working. This role will contribute to these priorities through the following:

•           Continual improvement and refinement of processes related to system working in relation to the Advice Support and Access Service to ensure realisation of the system vision

•           Addressing health inequalities for children and young people including neurodiversity (suspected or confirmed) to ensure their mental health needs are met

•           Development of system wide data dashboards to ensure performance management is robust and opportunities for improvements identified

•           Provide clinically informed challenge to ensure high quality, effective, efficient and safe delivery of care

•           Focus on internal and external transition protocols within and between CYP mental health providers to ensure CYP do not fall through the gaps and access support through commissioned services

•           Support the national ambition to embed integrated neighbourhood teams and think family approaches across N&W to ensure holistic and integrated care is delivered in local communities closer to home

•           Provide strategic clinical advice and consultation to the CYP System Collaborative

•           Embedding best practice and NICE Concordant care across providers e.g. prescribing in under 18s

•           To work within Ormiston Families Strategic Plan and all policies and procedures, including Safeguarding, Equality and Diversity, Participation, Quality and Health and Safety. To comply with any relevant external standards and quality marks.

This is a strategic transformation post and will provide advice as required on individual cases in relation to accessing support / navigating the system, but responsibility for clinical decision making remains with the provider holding the case.
