Dear Parents and Carers, 

It is with great sadness that we are writing to let you know that we are proposing the closure of Play Out Nursery and sale of our premises at 333 Felixstowe Road. 

We know this news will come as a shock and a disappointment, particularly for you, the families who have trusted us to care for and support their children.

Many of you will be aware that the building at 333 Felixstowe Road has required frequent repairs in recent years. We have explored a range of options to repair and refurbish the site, but the scale of investment needed is beyond what we can afford as a charity. Repairing the roof alone is estimated to cost more than £250,000, with significant additional works also required. 

We also carried out a search for alternative premises in the local area so that Play Out could continue operating. Unfortunately, we have been unable to identify a suitable new location. 

Without the substantial investment required, we do not believe it would be responsible or sustainable to continue operating the nursery from the current building in the long term.

As a result, the nursery is currently closed.

We understand that you will have questions about what this means for your child and your family.
