Ian White appointed as new Chair of Trustees
Ormiston Families has announced the appointment of Ian White as its new Chair of Trustees.
Ian, chairman of Becketts Investment Management Group and former chair of Suffolk Mind, will take up the voluntary role in December, succeeding Gail Tolley, who steps down after nine years of service to the charity.
The appointment comes as Ormiston Families continues to expand its support for children, young people and families across the East of England.
The charity delivers services including children’s mental health support, help for families affected by imprisonment, bereavement support and SEND services.
During his time at Becketts, which has offices in Bury St Edmunds, Ipswich and Lowestoft, Mr White has overseen significant business growth while helping create an award-winning workplace culture.
As chair of Suffolk Mind, he has supported the charity to strengthen its long-term sustainability, develop new services and respond to changing needs across the region.

“We all know the challenges people are facing and the work of Ormiston Families offers so much hope to so many, giving them the tools to find strength during difficult times.
“My role now is to support Bruce and the leadership team in making sure the charity can grow that impact to support even more families in our area.”

The charity has also paid tribute to outgoing chair Gail Tolley.

“Her legacy will be one that shapes the charity for many years to come. On behalf of colleagues, I would like to thank Gail for her dedication, passion and commitment.”
Ian will assume the role in December, working alongside the Board of Trustees and Executive Team.
