5 Ways You Can Support Ormiston Families This Summer

1st May 2026

Summer is a time when the pressure on vulnerable families often increases. School meals disappear, childcare costs rise, and the routine that holds many households together simply stops. This summer, we are asking our community to help us reach more families who need us.

1. Fundraise at a local event

Whether you are running a 5K, hosting a bake sale, or organising a community quiz night, fundraising for Ormiston Families is straightforward and deeply impactful. Every £50 raised funds an hour of direct family support.

2. Donate goods for our family hubs

Our family hubs across Suffolk and Norfolk accept donations of quality children’s books, art supplies, and educational games. These go directly into our waiting rooms and community sessions.

3. Volunteer your skills

We are always looking for volunteers with skills in administration, IT, communications, driving, and practical trade work. Even a few hours per month can have a lasting impact.

4. Share our work

Sometimes the most powerful thing you can do is simply tell someone about us. Many families do not know that free, confidential support is available to them.

5. Make a regular donation

Monthly giving provides the predictable income that allows us to plan ahead, retain staff, and scale programmes that work. As little as £5 per month, sustained over a year, funds a child’s place in one of our after-school wellbeing groups.
