News round-up – May

Wow, May went fast. Yet again, our incredible volunteers and staff have gone beyond to help raise much needed funds for our services.

We never take for granted the efforts that our volunteers make. It makes a huge difference to the lives of vulnerable children.

If you’d like to join our team of volunteers or find out more about specific projects that we’re working on, please get in touch!

Here’s a quick overview of the wide of projects and fundraising activities that our amazing team have been working on in the last few weeks.

A huge thanks to Seven Resourcing

We’d like to offer our thanks to the team from Seven Resourcing in Ipswich who raised more than £1,000 in a charity football match. The game took place at Colchester United on 20 May, 2023.

Seven Resourcing lined up against fellow recruitment firm Sanctuary Personnel to raise money for our services. A big crowd watched on and helped chip in with generous donations.

The winners on the day were able to lift the inaugural UGrad+ Cup – a trophy named after Seven’s thriving undergraduate programme.

It’s very exciting to be supported by such a large employer, and we’re looking forward to next years’ match!

Skydivers take to the skies to raise funds

We’d also like to express our gratitude to Aaqil, Bo, Briseis, Cory and Cameron, also from the Seven Resourcing team who skydived from 13,000ft to raise money for us.

We’re in awe of anyone who has got the guts to jump out of a plane – it’s a monumental achievement and something we’re sure they’ll remember for ever.

If this sounds like something you want to try, why not book a space on our upcoming skydive fundraiser? We’ve got upcoming dates on the 14 July and the 09 September 2023, so it’s not too late to sign up!

We’re looking forward to the Festival of Wellbeing

It’s only a few weeks until our Festival of Wellbeing at Great Yarmouth Racecourse on Saturday 15 July, 11am-3pm.

During the day, we’ve got plenty of activities planned including live music, arts and crafts and family fun. The festival will see live music from local artists, RONAN and Emily & Zak, as well painting workshops delivered by Gorleston’s no.36 The Art Workshop.

There will also be workshops for graffiti, circus skills and entertainment in the form of Punch and Judy shows.

We’d like to thank our Wellbeing Ambassadors who have designed the event. They’ve worked hard to train in mental health techniques as part of our #WeWill programme, which has been a huge success over the past 18 months.

The ticketed event is free of charge to attend, but tickets are required to help us manage numbers.

Tickets can be booked direct from https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/festival-of-wellbeing-tickets-633273005607

Every little helps…Thanks to Tesco for its support

We recently received a £2,500 donation from Tesco after featuring in their Community Pot scheme.

If you’ve ever shopped there, you’ve seen the blue tokens that are given to customers to pop into their preferred charity slot.

Stores in Norwich, Bury St Edmunds, Newmarket and Haverhill had the option to choose our services as a beneficiary. We’re incredible grateful for the support, because as Tesco’s famous slogan says, Every Little Helps.
