Ormiston Families is an east of England leading family charity, supporting children, young people and their families to manage the challenges they face and improve their life chances.   Ormiston Families believes young lives matter; our values are to be Caring, Brave and Effective.

Ormiston Families has enjoyed a period of sustained growth over the past ten years.  We are in a good financial position after securing a series of major contract wins.  This has seen us able to engage with and support more children, young people and their families than ever before. We have also recently invested in a new head office and growth in our subsidiary company. This is an exciting time for the charity as we begin the process of developing our strategy for 2019 onwards.

With an experienced staff team in place and a strong board behind it, the organisation is seeking to appoint a new Trustee with a background in commercial and statutory revenue generation, to strengthen the board and move the organisation into its next phase.

A recent review of skill requirements and succession planning for the Board of Trustees was carried out by the Chair.  This has identified a need for a trustee who has specialisms in one or more of the following areas:

  • Fundraising experience, ideally with experience of helping organisations or Boards develop income generation strategies
  • Business/commercial strategy and experience, ideally in the area of maximising and generating revenue from statutory and commercial sources

This is an important role within the Board and the appointed individual will also be a member of the respective sub-committees.

Previous experience as a Trustee would be welcomed but is not necessary.

If you are interested in being a Trustee at Ormiston Families and believe you would augment our Board then please do get in touch.
