Ormiston Families’ Engage service operates across Suffolk, working with school pastoral teams and external agencies to build the emotional resilience of pupils and their families who are struggling to engage with school.

The service is proven to increase school attendance by building the self-esteem and confidence of pupils. Parents and carers are supported to deal with the issues that are causing their child to stop engaging with education and to make positive changes at home and school.

The Engage service is for children and young people, aged 4-17, experiencing difficulties at school or home relating to:

  • Self-esteem and confidence
  • Behavioural problems
  • Poor attendance
  • Low attainment

Support includes an individually tailored support plan, involving one-to-one sessions, small group workshops, signposting, home visits and parenting programmes.
