Our work with communities

Ormiston Families works with local communities across the East of England, supporting children, young people and families with a variety of innovative services.

These are pioneering ground breaking emotional, physical and social wellbeing initiatives for children, young people and their families.

Our projects include our Child and Family Centres acting as a one-stop-shop for parents with children up to the age of 19; offering vital support during their child's most important stage of development. We offer universal interactive play sessions such as Little Learners, Messy Play & Rhymetime sessions. Our programmes for parents include Baby Massage, Raising Children, Incredible Years, Stepping Stones, Pathway to Parenting and Solihull.

Our activities and programmes are facilitated and delivered by our Ormiston Families' teams and in partnership with other professional organisations. Our partners include midwives, health visitors, local authorities and other voluntary organisations.

Through our network of drop-in sites we offer one-to-one work with parents, offering specialised support for those who have particular needs.

Our Mpower service operates across Suffolk and Norfolk and works with women who have had at least one child removed from their care. We support these women to take control of their lives and to understand the reasons behind the decision.

YouCanBe is one of our newest projects. Operating across Ipswich, Lowestoft and Suffolk coastal, the service works with young women to address and reduce some of the risks associated with adverse childhood experiences.

Our Engage service improves educational outcomes and life chances for children and young people.  Bridging the gap between home and school, the service aids improved attendance, attainment, behaviour and wellbeing.
