Youth Support Worker – Great Yarmouth

#WeWill Service 

Fixed-Term Full-Time position until 31st July 2024

Starting salary £22,367 per annum based on 35 hours per week

Based in Great Yarmouth

This is an exciting opportunity to join Ormiston Families’ #WeWill service, which is one element of a wider partnership led by the Ormiston Trust as part of the national #iWill youth social action initiative. The service aims to empower children and young people in the Great Yarmouth area to champion mental health and wellbeing in their schools and the wider community through peer mentoring and youth-led social action.

The role of Youth Support Worker is to work alongside Wellbeing Ambassadors (children and young people), education staff and Ormiston Families colleagues to deliver high quality support in planning, implementing and evaluating youth-led social action projects within school environments and the local community. You will work within a team of Youth Support Workers working across 14 schools. You will have responsibility for engaging with 5 of those schools, working flexibly across the cohort where needed.

You will be a highly motivated and organised individual with knowledge of youth-led social action and how to plan, deliver and evaluate social action projects. You will ideally have a recognised qualification in Youth Work and/or relevant, evidenced experience.
