We are delighted to announce that the annual Ormiston Families’ lecture is to be given by the BAFTA nominated journalist, filmmaker and author of ‘A Bit Of A Stretch : The diaries of a prisoner’ Chris Atkins. The lecture will take place at the Buckingham House Conference Centre, Murray Edwards College, University of Cambridge on Wednesday 17 November 2021.

Chris Atkins

Chris Atkins is a BAFTA-nominated film-maker. His feature documentaries Taking Liberties and Starsuckers were critically acclaimed and made front page news. He has also worked extensively with Dispatches for Channel 4 and BBC Panorama, and made the highly controversial drama UKIP: The First 100 Days.

In 2016, Chris was sentenced to five years in prison after becoming embroiled in a dodgy scheme to fund his latest film. Upon being sentenced, he was transferred to HMP Wandsworth. His diaries of his time inside, A Bit of a Stretch, was published in 2020.
