Small Steps Together

We are delighted to announce a Perinatal support service. The Ormiston Families Project is called Small Steps Together and started in August 2017, based in Queens Street, March.

The team, led by Louise Garner supports those at risk of developing, or who have low to moderate perinatal mental health and wellbeing needs during pregnancy and up to a year after birth.

In addition to the core delivery, we have been lucky to have had some early fundraising success with Sport For England.  This funding has enabled us to offer added value to our programme in the form of ‘Bodyfit’ sessions which are currently offering Pilates exercise classes in Cambridgeshire venues for women receiving support under the Project.

Louise Garner and Carly Copeman are supported by a team of volunteers to offer befriending 1-1 listening home visits, supportive groups, signposting, help to access community services and information to families and professionals referring to the service.

The project has been well received by Health professionals, including GP’s, Health Visitors, Midwives, Mental Health Services and Social Care units, working closely with these partners’ ensures families in the area can be supported in the best way possible.
