Boston Lodge secures Big Lottery Funding for the local community

Ormiston Families’ Boston Lodge has been awarded £10,000 from the Big Lottery Fund to help with the running costs of the building and remain the heart of the community.

The community hub, based in Lowestoft, provides a wide range of groups and services that benefit the community. This includes children's music and dance classes, cooking classes, writing groups, mental health support activities and fitness classes.  The other services running from Boston Lodge are One Life Suffolk, Great Yarmouth & Waveney Mind and Ormiston families Point 1 Service & Mpower Service.

Sharon Tejada-Jimenez, Service Manager for Boston Lodge, said: “We are thrilled to receive £10,000 from the Big Lottery Fund – thank you so much. This means the world to our service users, who can continue to enjoy a safe and comfortable environment that benefits them. With up to 1,000 members coming through Boston Lodges’ doors a week, and long opening hours throughout the day, wear and tear takes its toll, especially over the winter months.”

The funds from The Big Lottery will keep the building running to a good standard, such as the maintenance and upkeep of the interior and exterior of building, specialist equipment for services, heating and security.
