There are plenty of long descents too, as we descend almost 4000m from the heights of the Andes to the Amazon Rainforest and the end of our journey.
Starting at Land’s End on the south-westerly tip of England, we pedal our way through Cornwall, over Dartmoor and north along the Welsh border, skirting the Lake District into Scotland, via lochs and the Highlands to the North Coast and John O’Groats.

Imagine standing at the edge of an open doorway in an aircraft flying at 10,000 feet - the noise of the engines and the wind ringing in your ears with only the outline of distant fields below. Now imagine leaning forward out of that doorway and letting go - falling forward into the clouds, skydiving down through the air as you start freefalling at over 120mph.

If you are the sort of person who likes to take on something a little more "out there" to raise money for Ormiston Families then perhaps a bungee jump is the thing for you.
Bungee jumping is diving head first from a crane-tower or high bridge with a special elastic cord attached to your ankles. The stretch of the cord breaks your fall leaving you hanging suspended by your ankles to be lowered down to the ground.
