Alan Titchmarsh MBE shares moving reflections of time with Her Late Majesty at Ormiston Families fundraising event

Gardener, author and broadcaster Alan Titchmarsh MBE shared a poignant reflection and some amusing personal anecdotes of a longtime association with the late Queen at an exclusive Ormiston Families fundraising lunch.

The popular television personality and bestselling novelist was Ormiston Families’ guest for a sell-out occasion which took place in Framsden Hall Barn, part of the Helmingham Hall estate in Suffolk.

Alan spoke movingly of his appreciation for the late Queen, having participated in televised commentary of the occasion on Monday afternoon.

More than 150 diners heard about his accomplished career, and his deep passions for both writing and gardening.

Allan Myatt, Ormiston Families’ Chief Executive, said: “We are so indebted to Alan for providing a talk of such warmth, insight and experience.

“Our guests were all clearly captivated by his stories and his wisdom, which made for a very special Ormiston Families event, just a day after the nation had said their goodbyes to Her Majesty.”

He added: “We are also very grateful to our president, Lady Xa Tollemache, who kindly allowed us the opportunity to host the event in the wonderful setting of Framsden Hall Barn, with guests also having been given the chance to take a tour of Helmingham Hall gardens beforehand.”
