Our central office team is based on Nacton Road in Ipswich, but our network of professionals, volunteers and supporting agencies extends right across the East of England. So, who are the names and faces behind the East of England’s leading charity for children and young people?
Mark is Chief Executive of Ormiston Families. Before this, he worked as a Regional Director at the Prince’s Trust and the Chief Executive of Rock UK, a national charity which offers outdoors experiences to young people.

Allan joined Ormiston Families in November 2010 with over 25 years’ experience of working in the voluntary youth sector. Through his previous role as the Operations Director of Fairbridge, Allan helped to establish three other youth charities: The Youth Enquiry Service in Plymouth, Challenge for Youth in Belfast, and The Venture Trust in Scotland. He was also the first Chair of the Institute for Outdoor Learning.
In his Operations Director role for Ormiston Families, Allan is responsible for all service delivery, quality assurance and business development.
Abi joined Ormiston in February 2010 having spent ten years in the Prison Service, specialising in work with Young Offenders, latterly taking the role as Deputy Governor at HMP Warren Hill.
She said: "Having decided that I wanted to take a more preventative approach to changing young lives I was delighted to be offered a post a Ormiston Families. I knew the reputation the organisation had for taking on challenges that face some very isolated children in our country."
As Director of Enterprises at Ormiston Families, Abi is responsible for development and management of all of the charity's commercial activities which generate an income to enable our charitable activities to be sustainable. This includes our growing Nursery programme Ormitots, which Abi has taken from conception to opening of five Ofsted registered childcare settings.
She has a broad range of knowledge having previously held business development and operational director roles at Ormiston Families and was instrumental in securing our contract with NOMS to deliver the Visits Experience and 'Dad's Inside and Out' Project, in partnership with Cambridge Institute of Criminology. She also project managed the tender process which secured our Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services in Norfolk, the charities largest statutory contract.
Abi provides strategic and operational support to all our services as part of the Senior Leadership Team, and ensures that Ormiston Families continues to be responsive to the ever changing needs of our service users and the complicated funding landscape in which we operate.
Duncan joined us having previously held the role of Finance Director in a local specialist care charity and a countywide infrastructure support charity, in addition he brings with him his valuable experience gained during his 6 years with a national care charity.
Before entering the charity sector in 2004 he gained a breadth of experience within the public and private sectors including involvement with family businesses from which he feels he brings a balanced commercial perspective to his role.

Kate has more than 30 years of experience in marketing and fundraising in a number of high profile organisations, both private and not-for-profit.
Before this appointment at Ormiston Families, Kate was head of income generation at the national volunteering charity, Volunteering Matters.

With extensive experience in Probation, Youth Justice, international development and voluntary sector management roles, Mark joined us from the East of England Regional Assembly in 2008, where he was the social policy lead.
In his current role as Services Director Mark has responsibility and strategic oversight for the services across Ormiston Families Unite and Engage programmes, ensuring they are sustainable and remain safe, effective and of the highest quality.
Zina is the services Director for the Connect portfolio. Zina joined Ormiston Families in 2011. Zina has spent the majority of her career in social care, specialising in Children and Young Peoples service for the last 18 years. Before joining Ormiston Families Zina was the Business performance director at The Children's Society.
Zina has strategic and operational for all the Connect services, and is also lead on business planning and budgeting.
