Ormiston Families invites local families to its Santa day at Boston Lodge
Ormiston Families’ Boston Lodge is hosting a Santa day on Saturday 1 December to raise funds to run projects and support groups for local children and young people.
Taking place from 9.30am – 3.30pm, this special event will include present giving from Santa, craft stalls, games, refreshments and much more. Children and families can take part in a reindeer trail or teddy tombola, with over 3,000 teddies on offer that were kindly donated by the local community.
For the first time ever, the Santa day is being organised in association with Catch 22, a social business that builds resilience and aspiration in people and communities. Boston Lodge will be working with a group of 16-18 year old volunteers to help them take part in the community project as part of a qualification they are studying for.
Sharon Tejada-Jimenez, Service Manager for Boston Lodge, said: “This year’s Santa day is extra special as we have Santa’s little helpers in the form of our young volunteers. We also have an incredible amount of teddies up for grabs and some farm animals on loan from Clicks Care Farm.
This year we are aiming to raise £2,000 with the help of local families wanting to spare an hour or so to have some fun and get in the festive mood with their children.”
The community hub, based in Lowestoft, provides a wide range of groups and services that benefit the community. This includes children's music and dance classes, cooking classes, writing groups, mental health support activities and fitness classes. The other services running from Boston Lodge are One Life Suffolk, Great Yarmouth & Waveney Mind and Ormiston Families’ Point 1 & Mpower projects.
