Singing our praises
We are extremely grateful to Dayspring Community Choir for raising a fantastic £2,000 for Ormiston Families.
The choir, based at Christ Church on Moreton Hall, Bury St Edmunds, held a Christmas concert at the end of last year in aid of Ormiston Families and as a result recently presented our team with a giant cheque.
Since its beginning in 2013, the choir has now grown to around 80 members with the aim of creating ‘a community for singing - singing for a community’.
Over the years, the choir has raised a significant amount for local charities and last year was no exception with choir member and Ormiston Families employee, Fiona Oldman, putting the charity forward to be a fundraising beneficiary.
The choir’s musical director, Barry Hart, said: “We have been raising money for many years and usually split the funds raised at our Christmas concert between a number of charities. After Fiona highlighted the vital work Ormiston Families undertakes across East Anglia, we decided it should be the sole charity to receive funds from our Christmas concert.
“We are thrilled to have raised £2,000 for such a brilliant cause and we’re very grateful to everyone who gave so generously.”
