A Brighter Christmas

Working across the East of England, we provide mental health and wellbeing services to enable children, young people and their families to feel safe, healthy and resilient.

For some of the children, young people and families we support, Christmas can be a very difficult time. Some children will be missing a parent in prison, other service users might be dealing with anxiety or perinatal mental health issues, and some parents will be reminded of the pain of having their children removed from their care.

To help us make sure our service users can have brighter Christmases, we are inviting you to get involved in our ‘A Brighter Christmas’ campaign. Your support can ensure our practitioners can be there for even more children like Charlie who needed them when his dad went to prison:

He says:

“You have helped me very much with my feelings and helped me to know I won’t see dad for a long time. I can now talk to my teacher as you’ve helped her to understand me too.”

This year is going to be different for all of us and at times may seem dark, with no light at the end of the tunnel. Just like the families Ormiston Families supports, everyone deserves to feel brighter and more positive about the future.

How to get involved:

To help make this Christmas feel especially festive and bright, we are holding a special virtual event that you can take part in at home with members from your household, whilst at the same time connecting with friends, extended family and colleagues who are participating too.

‘Festive Bake-along’ is taking place on 21st December 2020 at 2.30pm. The event will be hosted by Kelsi and Stephen from Bake it Box who will be teaching you how to bake Rudolph Brownies – something for all the family to enjoy! Each ticket will include a box delivered to your home with all the ingredients needed measured out, a festive activity for kids, and a printed recipe and instructions for the bake.
