Ormiston has been based at HMP Edmunds Hill since 1999, when it was a female establishment. The prison has undergone a period of change as it is reroled as a male prison. Ormiston has remained and will now offer the following services to families at the prison:

• children's visits
• an accredited parenting course for fathers within the prison
• stories onto video
• family liaison work

Visitors Centre:

Please note that the Visitors Centre is run by the prison who can be contacted on 01440 743100.

There is wheelchair access to the centre and the prison.

 How to get there:

Train: The nearest train station is Bury St Edmunds. There is a bus service to the prison from here, or it is approximately 20 minutes in a taxi.
