Families in Essex
Ormiston wants to help children and families who live in Essex and have a relative in prison anywhere in the country.
Our team will work with children and young people, aged between 5 and 16 years old, in their homes, in schools or in the community to help them come to terms with their feelings following the imprisonment of a loved one.
We can also give advice to parents, professionals, grandparents and extended family members who need extra support to help children of prisoners. Our prison links service for under fives offers support to younger children and parents-to-be.
You are welcome to contact us to find out more about how we can help you or a family you know.
We also have services specifically for families of under fives affected by imprisonment and we have visiting support services in two Essex prisons as well as most others in the region. Click on the links on the left to find out more.
We also have two books for children and young people, Visting My Dad, and Visiting My Mum, which might help. If you would like a copy please email enquiries@ormiston.org
