Ormiston has a small visitors' centre at HMP Bullwood Hall, a category C prison for foreign nationals. We help and assist families visiting their relative in prison at HMP Bullwood Hall, and we run children's visits once a month when children can meet and play with their relative in a relaxed and family-friendly setting.

How to get there
By Train
From London Liverpool Street take the Southend line to either Rayleigh or Hockley (approx. one hour journey).
Then take a bus or a taxi to the prison.
By Bus
From Rayleigh or Hockley you can take bus nos. 7, 7a, or 8a to the top of Bullwood Hall Lane.
By Car
From North and East London, take the M11 then the M25 signposted Gatwick and Dartford Tunnel.
Leave the M25 and join the A127 to Southend, follow this road to Rayleigh Weir roundabout and take the first exit to Rayleigh. Continue through the town centre to Hockley. On entering Hockley the entrance is concealed by a high hedge on the right hand side approx. 200 yards past the top of the hill.
From North and West of England, take the M1, M4, M40 direct to the M25 clockwise direction. Leave the M25 and join the A127 to Southend, follow this road to Rayleigh Weir roundabout and take the first exit to Rayleigh. Continue through the town centre to Hockley. On entering Hockley the entrance is concealed by a high hedge on the right hand side approx. 200 yards past the top of the hill.
From the South of England, travel through the Dartford Tunnel on the M25. Leave the M25 and join the A127 to Southend, follow this road to Rayleigh Weir roundabout and take the first exit to Rayleigh. Continue through the town centre to Hockley. On entering Hockley the entrance is concealed by a high hedge on the right hand side approx. 200 yards past the top of the hill.
From East Anglia, follow the A12 taking the A130 Southend road just south of Chelmsford. On the A130 about 2 miles beyond Rettendon Turnpike roundabout. Filter left at the traffic lights signposted Hockley. After a further 2 miles turn right at a mini roundabout and continue to the next mini roundabout where you turn left. The entrance to Bullwood Hall Lane is concealed by a high hedge on the right 200 yards past the brow of the hill
